In Chautauqua County, about 1 in 5 adults are functionally illiterate, and 35% of homes are non-English speaking. Our mission is to transform our community so everyone can become literate.
 

Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County (LVCC) is a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of local residents by providing free literacy instruction. Our volunteer tutors help people gain crucial skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to English through one-on-one and small group tutoring.
 

Located next to the LVCC Education Center, The Next Chapter Bookstore offers thousands of used and vintage books for the enjoyment of all ages. 100% of the proceeds from book sales are used to support LVCC’s free literacy programs.
